Nashville's Intimate Live Music Secret

200 people, world-class acoustics, and real music energy on 7th Avenue South.

About Us

Some venues swallow the music. The Blue Room does the opposite. Capped at around 200 guests, this Gulch-area bar puts you close enough to see the sweat on the guitarist's forearm, close enough that the bass actually moves through you. That's not an accident. The acoustics here are something reviewers keep coming back to mention, and the room was clearly built with sound in mind.

Sit inside or step out to the covered exterior area where you can smoke, grab a drink, and feel the warm Nashville air between sets. There's even a $5 photo booth tucked in for the nights worth remembering. Parking is straightforward, with a lot directly across the street that covers most show lengths without a headache.

The Blue Room has earned a 4.7-star rating across nearly 150 reviews, and that number reflects what regulars already know: this is the kind of small venue that makes a city's music scene worth caring about. It's raw, it's close, and it sounds great.

What We Offer

Live music shows are the heartbeat of everything here. The intimate 200-person capacity means you're not watching from a distant balcony. You're in it, whether that's a touring act making a Nashville stop or a local artist putting everything into a Friday night set.

Beyond the stage, the full bar keeps the energy up all night. The outdoor seating area with smoking space gives the room a natural social flow, and the unisex restrooms keep lines short. The photo booth at $5 a session is a crowd favorite for groups.

The venue also functions as an event space, making it a strong pick for private bookings, release parties, or corporate events that need a room with actual character rather than a banquet hall. Check the calendar at theblueroombar.com for upcoming shows and availability.

"First show at this venue, it was worth it. Capacity is right around 200 people, making this an intimate venue to see a show but well worth it. The acrostics are amazing and the entire staff was top notch. Can't wait until our next show."

"Cool little spot with areas to smoke and sit right outside and multiple unisex restrooms with a little $5 photo booth too. Thankfully parking across the street in the lot for regular concert duration wasn't $30+ which means a lot to me. Inside was intimate but just big enough i'd say there were at least 100 but less than 200 concertgoers and still didnt feel cramped (just funny trying to walk around the curved side wall). Get there early if you want to sit. There were lots of chairs, but first come first serve. You gotta like smaller venues, but no complaints here. The hostess and security were cool too."

"Adorable spot, music was great. However, the tall bald door guy made it unpleasant. Dropped the F word when describing someone outside and made fun of my appearance when I called him out on it. Not sure his name, but I hope this isn’t the conduct Blue Room supports.. Would love to come back, probably won’t though. UPDATE: My friend believes to remember his name to be Kyle. Terrible human."

"I attended a concert here. It’s a very fun venue with some wild artwork like a life size elephant head on the wall and a sink on the ceiling in the bathroom! The entrance is fun too because it feels like you’re walking down a hallway into a hidden world! Also, maybe I got lucky but I arrived 10 minutes before the official concert start time of 8pm and was able to find street parking very close for $8 for 3 hours."
